Our Acceptable Use Policy for children has four rules to help them stay safe online - both in school and at home.

Safer Internet Day 2024

Safer Internet Day 2024 takes place Tuesday, 6 February. The theme for this year is ‘Inspiring change? Making a different, managing influence and navigating change online.’ We will be learning about kind and unkind behaviour, and what to do/who to tell if something makes us feel bad.

It’s never too early or too late to start an online safety conversation and keep it going. See our tips and tools below to support your child’s digital journey.

If you were unable to attend the workshop for Parent/Carers on 8th February, I have uploaded a copy of the slides we used, which we would recommend you read in order to help you keep your children safe online at home.

As part of the schools ICT provision we offer pupils access to a range of information sources including the Internet. The Internet enables pupils to explore vast amounts of information with the aim to further educational goals and objectives. We believe that the Internet can make a significant contribution to your child’s education and is an integral part of the curriculum.

Unfortunately the Internet can also provide access to less desirable information.  Measures have been put in place to ensure that internet access is appropriate and safe within school.

You may find the below information useful in helping your child stay safe online if they have access to the internet at home.

Thinkuknow

Thinkyouknow is an education programme from the National Crime Agency.  It aims to ensure that Parents/Carers, children and professionals who work with them have access to practical information on internet safety.

This logo/button can be found on many social networking sites. Clicking on the logo will take you to the CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre). Here you can report any behaviour that has made you or your child feel worried or unsafe. Alternatively if you do not see the logo the direct link is:

NSPCC Share Aware and Net Aware

Share aware – Help your child stay safe on social networks, apps and games and understand the dangers of sharing personal information online.

Net aware – A guide developed to provide parents/carers with information to help understand the sites their child may have access to at home. It contains reviews from parents/carers and children on the content of a variety of apps/games/social networking sites.
